Kindred Sound
Pat Morgan Sandy Lust Katy Stevens Jennifer Cooke The dictionary describes kindred as “close to somebody or something else because of similar qualities or interest.” How fitting for this quartet as Kindred Sound is comprised of a mother, her two daughters, and her best friend.

Achordance Kate Kerr Bonnie Fox Toni Irwin Mandy Rhoades One of the newer quartets in Columbus Chorus, Achordance, has been together since November, 2006. The members love learning how to sing with only four voices and enjoy performing together, as well as the camaraderie that comes along with being a part of a group.
Tenor, Kate Kerr, usually sings the lead part in the chorus, so she gets a lot of practice learning a new voice part for this quartet. Kate has been a Special Education teacher with Grandview Heights City Schools for 28 years. She has a Master's degree from OSU. Kate not only sings in the Columbus Chorus Achordance quartet, but also enjoys singing with her church choir. Kate lives with her two cats, both of whom tend to stay away when the quartet meets at her house for practice.
Lead, Bonnie Fox, began as a baritone when she first joined the chorus in 2004. During a voice lesson, she was asked to switch to lead and it turned out to be a perfect fit. Bonnie taught medicine at OSU, Grant Medical Center, and Children's Hospital for 22 years. She holds a Ph.D. degree (OSU) in Adult Education, with Business Management in Healthcare. She opened Ambiance Interior Design, LLC, in 1998 after studying at Columbus College of Art and Design. Bonnie is married with two grown sons and has two little dogs.
Baritone, Mandy Rhoades, joined Columbus Chorus in November 2006 after being encouraged by her mother, Mary Buck (also a baritone). Mandy worked in the child welfare field for almost ten years and holds a Master's Degree in Social Work. At the beginning of 2007, she joined the family business, Buck and Sons Landscape, in a management position. Mandy is married and lives with two cats and a boxer dog. Mandy helps us in the quartet by making learning tapes when needed.
Bass, Toni Irwin, has been in the Columbus Chorus for eleven years. She is currently working as an Administrative Assistant at Wesley Glen, a retirement community in Worthington. She holds an Associate Degree in Secretarial Sciences. Toni is married and has an adult son, as well as her beagle, who enjoys "singing" with the quartet when they practice at her home.

Teddy Paul Maryann Malinowski Maryann Kane Sally Stark Sounds Good To Me formed in 1988 as a result of a challenge. Three of these ladies, Teddy Dowling Paul, Maryann Malinowski, Maryann Kane decided to give it a try and they have been singing together ever since. Sally Stark joined them in 2001 when their original baritone moved away. Quartet longevity parallels individual chorus tenure as these ladies combine nearly 80 years with Sweet Adelines.
Maryann Malinowski sings lead and is a school media aide.
Teddy Dowling Paul sings tenor, holds a Ph.D., and is a biochemist at Chemical Abstracts Service.
Sally Stark sings baritone and is a Program Management Director at New Product Innovations, Inc., a product development and manufacturing company.

Sounds Good To Me is a performing quartet. A favorite performance for this quartet is singing for and demonstrating the unique four-part barbershop harmony to school-age children. This quartet’s repertoire includes favorite songs from the past as well as songs of today and some humorous parodies.

Last Resort
Josie Fettrow Sandy Spangler Sue Ulrich MaryEllen Guntzelman The Last Resort has been together now for about two years. All four of us have been in quartets over the years singing with other combinations. The name seemed to fit since we thought it would be great to try it one more time with this combined foursome.
Yes, there are four of us in this quartet! Don’t laugh! People are always wanting to know how many are in your quartet? Mary Ellen Guntzelman is the lead and has the most years of singing experience. She is the director of Columbus Chorus, and she is retired from working for the government for over 40 years. Mary Ellen tries to keep us in line and sounding good musically, but it doesn’t always turn out that way.
Sandy Spangler is our tenor singing the high notes. She is married to Glenn, who is a dentist and a Singing Buckeye (that’s the male chorus – not the nut). Two of Sandy’s three daughters are also Sweet Adelines. Sandy is a wonderful artist professionally and for pleasure when she is not working or singing. Glenn and Sandy have a cottage out on Buckeye Lake.
Josie Fettrow is the baritone singing those hard notes. She is retired from Franklin County where she taught Special Education which is why she understands Sue so well. She likes reading and basket making. Her husband is an athletic director, and one of her two daughters is in the chorus, too.
Sue Ulrich sings bass notes which involves lots of ba-ba, omp pahs, bum-bums and the like. She does a great job of keeping us all on our toes. One has to practice really well to keep from laughing during a performance. Sue works at Nationwide in her second career. She used to be a Recreation Director at a Senior Center.
The Last Resort has enjoyed singing together and renewing lasting friendships. Singing is the highlight of our day and quarteting a special part of Columbus Chorus.
